Initial review

[edit]

The article looks quite reasonable.

It's some what under wikilinked, so I've added a few as I've skimmed through/read the article; and in places the article needs minor points of clarification. I've also added the {CinemaofFrance} flag which was missing from this article, but was in use in other articles in this category.Pyrotec (talk) 21:39, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Locations mentioned in the 'Production' section

[edit]

The current text says in the 2nd paragraph: "For the village of the story he settled on Mirabeau (65 km to the north), while Jean de Florette's house is located in Vaugines, where the church from the film can also be found.[4] The market scenes were filmed in Sommières in the Gard, and the story's Les Romarins was in reality Riboux in the Var.[8]". I can't check reference #4 (The Times is paywalled) which is why I haven't gone ahead and changed this, but surely the first quoted sentence should say: "For the village of the story he settled on Mirabeau (65 km to the north), while César's house is located in Vaugines, where the church from the film can also be found.[4]"? (bold only to indicate location of change.) Jean de Florette's house is Les Romarins, the location for which the second sentence above correctly states to be in Riboux. Movement

[edit]

The sequel FILM is styled as Manon des Sources (1986 film). I propose moving this article to be like that, and leave this for the book rather than the movie. It would also fix how Pagnol's page has the book version of Manon des Sources in red, while Jean de Florette redirects here, to the Film. I hope this was comprehensible, I'm very tired. --Schwiiz (talk) 13:37, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
